DIY Brightening Face Mask

16.04.19 | Ashley | No Comments

DIY Brightening Face MaskNot sure about you guys, but lately my skin has been feeling a little less than perfect. The winter season has left it dry and dull and I’m on a mission to get it summer ready! One of my favorite ways to do that is by using this DIY brightening face mask! It’s soooo easy to make and really helps get my skin out of that post-winter rut! Plus, I love using all natural ingredients!

Check out the super simple tutorial and make your own mask this weekend!

Dewey skin is in, and this DIY brightening face mask will help you achieve that summer glow! It’s also great for dark spots too!

DIY Brightening Face MaskHere’s what you’ll need to make your own:

  • 3 Tbsp. Rolled Oats (Ground)
  • 1 Tbsp. Honey
  • 1/2 Tsp. Turmeric
  • Fresh Lemon Juice

(If you can’t find rolled oats that are already ground into a flour-like consistency, you can use a mortal and pestle to achieve the same results. It’s an extra step, but it’s easy and quick to do! Just get the oats as fine as you can. A little chunky is ok too!)

DIY Brightening Face MaskIn a small bowl, mix all of the ingredients together. Add enough lemon juice until the mask has reached a good consistency for spreading onto your face.

DIY Brightening Face MaskI like to use a face mask brush when I’m applying my masks, to keep things clean and easy, but you can apply the mask with your hands too.

DIY Brightening Face MaskApply the mask to your whole face and allow it to sit for 15-20 minutes.

I like to use this mask once a week, or whenever my face is looking and feeling a little lack luster.

Making my own DIY brightening face mask is an easy way for me to control exactly what my skin is absorbing and being informed about where the items I’m using came from, which I love.
