Home Game Night

04.08.17 | Ashley | 1 Comment

Thank you Deer Lord! for sponsoring this post. Grab your new edition of Deer Lord! social party game, available through Target retail stores starting July 30.

Home Game Night

Home Game NightI was recently given the opportunity to host my own home game night with a few of my fave girlfriends and try out a fun new game that just hit stores! And, let me tell you guys, it was a riot!

Home Game NightThe game is hilarious, and even more so if you add some drinks into your evening (only if you’re 21+!). Deer Lord! is a social party game that lets you challenge other players to funny “duels’ and attempt to “dupe” each other with sneaky and secret actions that no one knows about. It’s hilarious trying to call your friends out and watch them (and you!) attempt crazy tasks. I might have had to act out being the Eiffel tower…just saying.

Home Game NightThe game comes as one core box, but also has two updated editions, the “Broadway” and “Gangsta” expansion packs, that you can purchase to add on as well. You can find all of the Deer Lord! options at your local Target retail stores!

You can find out more about the game here!

Home Game Night

Home Game NightA game night just wouldn’t be successful without snacks! Pick options that are easy to eat with your hands and are small bites. That way guests can munch while playing! I served Tuscan chicken flatbread, an assortment of different meats, cheeses, nuts, olives, and crackers, and then the BEST marshmallow popcorn. (Seriously, this popcorn is to die for guys!) And, luckily, I’m sharing the recipe with you too! 😉

Home Game NightFor drinks, create your own custom cocktail, themed around your evening, or serve bottled sodas or beer to keep the party going. Bottled beverages are easy to keep cold, and make popping and serving them a breeze, instead of getting stuck playing bartender all night long.

Home Game NightI stuck to the same color palette as the Deer Lord! game, so I picked out black and white napkins and white and gold plates and straws.  I’m definitely a sucker for a good white and black color palette. I especially love using disposable serving ware when entertaining too, because it eliminates a lot of the clean up after the party ends. The last thing I want to do after a late home game night, is stay up for hours washing dishes and cleaning the house. No thanks!

Remember that delicious popcorn? Read below to find out how to whip up your very own batch!

Home Game NightMarshmallow Popcorn –

Here’s what you’ll need to make your own:

  • 1 Stick of Butter
  • 1 (10 Ounce) Bag Mini Marshmallows
  • 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 1/2 Bags Popped Popcorn

Spread the popped popcorn onto a cookie sheet.

Place butter, marshmallows, and brown sugar into a large microwave safe bowl.

Microwave for one minute and then stir to combine. Microwave again for another 60 seconds until completely melted.

Pour the marshmallow mixture over the popcorn and mix. It is very sticky, but worth the mess! (You can use cooking spray or butter on your spoon to make it a little bit easier!)

Let the popcorn set for about 15-20 minutes before serving.

Easiest (and most delicious!) popcorn recipe ever! Trust me, you’ll be making this batch again. 😉

Home Game Night

Home Game NightYou guys should definitely consider hosting your very own home game night. They are a fun and easy way to entertain with friends without putting in a lot of work and party decor! And don’t forget to pick up your own box of Deer Lord! It’s definitely a fun game and enough fun that we are all already planning our next one!

I love this game night that you put together! It looks so incredibly classy. Something that my family and I love doing is going to arcades. It’s weird going back now as an adult, but it brings back such good memories.
