DIY Avocado Aloe Face Mask

12.08.19 | Ashley | No Comments

DIY Avocado Aloe Face MaskI’m not sure how summer temps have been in the rest of the country lately, but Utah has been hitting over 100 degrees these last few days! Bring on all of the frozen drinks and pool days please! But if you combine those sunny and hot days with an extra dry desert climate, you’ve got a recipe for a dry skin disaster. I can always tell when my skin needs an extra little moisture boost and when it does, I head into my kitchen to whip up this easy DIY avocado aloe face mask!

The mask takes less than 10 minutes to make and you only need 3 ingredients!

Each of the ingredients are packed with skin nourishing and moisturizing benefits and are everyday items found at any local grocery store! They might not be items you’ve thought to combine before, but they are the triple threat needed for thirsty skin!

DIY Avocado Aloe Face MaskHere’s what you’ll need to make your own:

  • 1/4 Avocado, Mashed
  • 1 Tbsp. Aloe Vera, Gel or Fresh
  • 1 Tbsp. Oats

DIY Avocado Aloe Face MaskCombine avocado, aloe, and oats in a bowl. (I love this one).

Mix well and apply to your face, being careful to avoid eyes and lips. I like to use a face mask brush to make the application easy, but you can us your hands too.

DIY Avocado Aloe Face MaskRelax for a bit and leave the mask on your skin for 10-15 minutes before rinsing it off with warm water. (You can also massage the mask into your skin before rinsing as an added exfoliation bonus).

The aloe contains antioxidants, positive enzymes, vitamins A and C, and is a great anti-inflammatory if you’ve been out in the sun too long. It’s also great for helping to replenish dry skin.

Avocado is rich in fatty acids and contains vitamin E, potassium, and lecithin which all nourish and moisturize!

Oats are full of antioxidants that help undo damage to your skin from UV rays and pollution. It’s  also known to help relieve itching and inflammation and is great for soothing sunburned skin.

DIY Avocado Aloe Face MaskThis DIY avocado aloe face mask is exactly what your skin is craving if you’ve been spending long summer days drying out by the pool or on the beach. It’s the perfect way to give your dehydrated skin the moisture boost it needs!
